D.I. pt. 3

We went to Dollywood, yes we did. And no, it isn't true that there are 2 of everything there, and twice as big. Just thought I'd let ya know. Yep.
Yes, we slept whenever and wherever we could. It was a great 5 days, very hot, very fun, very exhausting. Looking forward to next year!

D.I. pt. 2

Cute girl with duct tape flower.

Pin trading is all the rage in Tennessee.
And some people think she's quiet and demure....not.
Even the old folks get to play. Yes, Rod and I did win the prestigious "clay aiken" best karaoke award. We sung to Mama Mia. I have a certificate if you don't believe me.

Destination Imagination 09 Global Finals Pt. 1

Click on link to find out what Destination Imagination is , it is too hard to explain! Or call me.

Julie, Me, Myla and Summer up early and headed to the airport.

We shine in 09!!
After the main challenge is done, we are all smiles!

Fun friends!! We love these girls!

The Garden, for good or evil

So about a month after I planted my garden, I decided to go out to the back 40 and see what was going on.
I had faith that there were veggies out there under all them weedy things.
And sure enough, we found tomatoes, and peppers, and a tiny watermelon, and squash.
Now the tomatoes were planted on that black plasticy stuff so no weeds get through, not strung up or anything. This was the advice of the lady who sold the little plants to me, which advice she got from some master gardener dude. The tomatoes are awesome!! Great advice!
The rest of the stuff we just planted, and it was choked with weeds, so I got out my family, the gardening paraphenalia and we weeded for a good hour or so. Yep, got about 1/5 weeded.
Yikes!
That was about 5 or 6 days ago. I found a cucumber plant with two tiny cucumbers on it, one about 2 inches long, another about 6 inches long, maybe 2 inches around. 2 days ago I checked on it and my how it had grown. Summer brought it in tonight and I about died. How do things grow that quickly? Seriously?

Catching up....

OK, OK, I am so far behind, how will I ever catch up? That is what keeps me silent.

Not much can keep me silent, ask my family.

So, let's experiment and see what happens, shall we?

Me. New hair. Happy about it.

Mission. Dear friends! Anna & Joe. Thanks for stopping by.

Son. Future Missionary. Very goofy boy.

Daughter. Beautiful example. Friend to all. Delight of my life.

Stay tuned for more. Going to see how long this takes to upload.

We have taken the plunge again. This is Jack. Jackie-O. Captain Jack. Jack of all trades.

He is sweet. He is smart. He is adorable. He is our new best friend.

Hi is a 3 year old labrador/collie, bred on purpose for how smart they are. We found him through Craigslist. I have been looking in the pets section for 4 or 5 months, half heartedly, thinking maybe someday.....

His picture called out to me, so much so, Reilly and I got in the car and went and fell in love with him. I know, what was I thinking, right? He loves love, and we have plenty of that around so...there you have it.

One week later, here we are with another dog.

What does Ryan think? Well, for a guy who never even had a pet rock growing up, as he likes to say, he is a little less enthusiastic than we are. He doesn't get the need for a dog, he says. Yes, this is the man that would go to Big Lots on a regular basis to find fun chew toys and treats for Charlie. The guy who came home to the dance of joy from Charlie every day, because his favorite person was home.

I can't wait until he gets home today to meet Jack. The Big Lots is only a half a mile away.

Lucky Jack.

Hoppy Gnu Ear!

I am posting so Rachel will stop bugging me! And I suppose it is time to make resolutions and keeping in touch is as good as any resolution. I do enjoy reading others blogs, I guess I just think I am a little more boring than the rest of y'all.

Christmas was lovely, simple, and peaceful. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee got a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii which made my kiddoes very happy. Yes, the first game I bought was "The Price is Right". Save your money folks. I couldn't bear to get any other game because none of them looked educational. Well.................if I'm going to spend Ryan's hard earned money...................

So, the people are creepy looking and acting on the game, so we have nicknamed them creepy, crazy, etc. And no, my kids still haven't let me play plinko yet, the boogers.

This weekend I told the kids, hey, if you put your money together, you can buy a game. Brilliant. They came home with Super Mario Smash Brothers 2, the final battlefield, or something like that. I watched for about 2 seconds and said, "Is this game only about beating each other up?" Harumph. I don't like video games.

And yes, it was me who forked out a few of my own precious dollars to get DDR 2, dance your pants off revolution. It has a workout mode, you know. I have been sick the last few days, very dizzy, but that didn't stop me from trying it out today. Let's just say my cool dancing days are over, and leave it at that. I invariably end up just running around on the mat (and off the mat apparently), trying to stamp all those darn arrows before I am judged A for Atrocious, B for Bodacious, you are not, or C for Come on, get a life.

My kids are quite clever. I want you to check out their present to us, if you haven't already.

I thought it was pretty funny, and impressive for their first foray into movie making.

Well, there you have it. 2:00 am ramblings such as they are. Are ya happy now Rachel?? Love you girl!
